Making a Gingerbread House This Christmas
I know it’s off-topic (you can’t make this with a GT Xpress) but I just ran across this post about how to make a gingerbread house, and I thought “What better recipe to blog about for Christmas?”
Here is what you’ll need:
- 6 cups all purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 2/3 cups shortening
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons double acting baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 8-ounce container of sour cream
- 2 eggs
The next steps are to prepare the dough, roll it, cut it, and bake it. Sound simple? It is! Check out the site above for detailed instructions.
mmm great timing. I was just thinking of making up a gingerbread house. Thanks.
